We decide to go cragging to rest up a bit and remember how to climb. We start with the "bunny slopes" where Ben and I get almost everything wrong -- where to park the car, where the approach is, how many ropes to bring, and where the climb begins. We go for the true "newby look" here at the bunny slopes. Micky and Alysa seem to do better.
After climbing a few routes, Micky and Alysa head to Tenaya Lake to swim, while Ben and I go to another crag to try "something harder". Too bad the 10a I had in mind is taken; I guess that leaves us with 11b. It's sport though, and the bolts are close. Too bad I can't climb it. I try the crux about a bajillion climbs but just can't get the sequence. Ben and I go around and set a top rope on some bolts, but they're not in a good place -- Ben is facing an ugly pendulum when he gets to the crux, so he grabs all the draws and raps off. This climb was a fun experience -- getting humbled big time.
