Nothing like waking up late around 8am to kickstart a looong day. The elite crew team assembled itself the day before at Intervale to attempt the unknown, rite-of-passage, climb suitably named "Da Pinnacle Buttrest". These same intrepid group of mountain explorers hiked up to meet the challenge at the base of the Huntington Ravine. There, they found a vertical adventure in which to apply their months of vertical training. Two rope parties, one climbing using half ropes, the other a single, successfully surmounted the obstacles placed on Pinnacle. Mr. Adams, soon to be a Californian citizen, quickly overcame the 5.8 crux pitch, relying on the abundance of fixed pins. By 8pm, the adventurers reached the top of the Alpine Garden, and later reached Pinkham Notch by 10pm. A quick celebration of gas station food & coffee put us back in Beantown by 1am... to sleep and dream about the next quest.
