Description | Heading west from Vermont and Maine, Anne and Amy adventuring again! The end of dissertation and high school education call for a celebratory change in terrain. In Seattle Anne raided the Safeway. So much food we could have eaten for twenty days. We drove past the Peace arch At a crawl, not a march, But we made it to Canada, eh?! Christopher provided our gear; Our inexperience soon became clear. But he lent us his radio And said give it a go! Practicing rescues helped allay our fear. In our kayaks our torsos were waterproof Even when drizzle obscured mountains aloof. Our timing was great Sun every night while we ate Then rain drops above on our tent roof. Piles of sea stars in purple most bold But snorkeling made us feel cold. We avoided calamity On the Moss of Insanity Where the sun warmed the grasses to gold. Our last night we displaced many seals. Squirmed to sleep to the sounds of their squeals. We awoke the next day To a view down the bay Our brownie breakfast sure did appeal. Just one week in Desolation Sound. Views of snowy peaks all around. Homfray Channel, Roscoe Bay Unwin Lake, Isles Curme - The beautiful places abound. |
