Trip Report
Well, most of the supplies came in for the new water system at Camelot, so we got a few folks together to get the process going. The forecast was dreary--off and on rain with coolish temps. Still, everyone showed up, eager to starting digging! A few folks, like Erica and Travis, were already keyholders and just came for the heck of it. Thanks!

A couple weeks ago, Greg and Chris sited a good spot for the new well, with a great refil rate. We started digging it out, very, very slowly. The area was FILLED with all sorts of stones, making it slow going. Complicating things, the high refil rate of the well meant that water was gushing in as we dug, sometimes in the rain. Fun! After a long afternoon, we got a large commerical grade trash can with screen covered holes sunk into a large hole, and backfilled it with stones. Yea!

We connected this with a pipe all the way up to the cabin, where another team had been working on putting in a new circuit for the pump under the cabin. We buried the water line heading across the yard in front of the cabin, and at the end of the day, we hooked the pump up to the piped and primed it. We through the switch, and (after figuring out that there was another switch on the pump) voila--water pouring forth!

By this time, it was getting late. Greg Wallace and Kristina popped in after Greg ran the Mt. Washington Road Race, and spent the night with us. We had an awesome dinner of brisket, baked potatoes, and silver turtles. Yummy! We finished the evening off with a sauna, and then hit the sack. A few people took off in the morning; others did a short hike up Mt. Osceloa.
