This weekend was a full moon and a meteor shower, so what better way to enjoy the night than a trip above treeline? We hiked up falling waters under clear skies and after a few close calls at stream crossings made it above treeline in time for the clouds to roll in. The moon was still bright enough that we didn't even need our headlamps. Temperatures were in the upper single digits with not too strong winds, so very good weather for this time of year.

By the time we hit Lafeyette the clouds parted and we saw some more meteors. We got back to the trailhead by 5:30, not having seen a single other party on the trip. That's pretty rare on a weekend doing the franconia loop, but I'm sure the crowds were just waiting for daylight.

Stas and I weren't exhausted/sleep-deprived enough so we ice climbed the rest of the day while the rest of the crew drove back to boston.
