Participants: Adam Rosenfield, Sam Hasinoff, Linda Chen, Christina Birch. The most challenging part of this trip was getting to the trail head. Half of our group was driving in from Boston and the snow storm made for some difficult driving. We began this relaxing hike at 10:45am, bushwhacking around Drakes Brook and heading up the Sandwich Mt Trail. We broke trail the entire trip and wore either crampons or snowshoes. Due to our late start and slow moving up the steep sections, we only made it to the Noon summit. We attempted to reach the Jennings Peak but had to turn back as we had reached our turn around time. On the descent, the snow storm was over and we had clear sunny skies. We had a fast and fun descent, glissading most of the way and practicing self arrest. This was a nice winter hike with a fun group. |
