| Description | A quick trip up Chocorua before returing to Cambridge (10/2/05)... 6:00 am - departed MITOC intervale cabin 6:45 am - started out on Piper trail 8:30 am - reached summit of Chocorua 9:38 am - returned to Piper trailhead The weather was warm and amazingly clear. Good views of the ocean and fog in the valleys from the summit. There were few other people on the trail which seemed to be very well travelled - it might be nice to try a less-direct route to the summit sometime in the near future. The Piper trail travels 4.5 miles to the summit (3500') with a 2600' vertical gain. |
