DescriptionWeather was excellent, sunny, clear skies, relatively warm, no winds. At the trailhead, one of our fearless leaders, Rachel, had this brilliant idea of an ice breaker: that we all have an animal attached to our names.

We came upon a fork in the path to the North (4,420') and South (4,319') summits. Our leaders wisely chose to hike up the steeper North summit first. It turned out quite steep at some points, nearing a 40 degree incline for stretches. We were rewarded by really sweet views of snow covered evergreens on the top, along with breathtaking views. From the South peak, we proceeded a bit longer to reach the North Peak. That trail was alot less hilly. After a short break, we gleefully glissading down...WEEEEEEEEE!!!

Stats: distance for the trip: 9.8 miles, with approximately 2,300' total elevation gain (1,000' of this in the one mile near the summits)

Footnote: If we had gone up the less steep trail, the glissade down might be a bit sketchy, hence my opinion that it was a wise choice to go up on that harder trail.
