Fool Killer 91st tallest mountain in NH How can you resist climbing a mountain with a name like "Fool Killer"? Sure, there's not actually a trail to the top, but that makes it even more of an adventure. We took the trail up the south slide to South Tripyramid, then turned down the sabbaday brook trail for a half mile. Here we cut up into the woods in a 1/4-mile bushwack to the summit. Surprisingly there was a summit register and a cairn at the summit, and unsurprisingly there was no view. We proudly learned we were the 23rd, 24th, and 25th people to visit the summit in the past year - that means about one person every other weekend! There were no dead fool bodies lying around, so the mountain must not have had any recent victims. We took an adventurous way back, descending the North Slide trail from North Tripyramid and not slipping too much. If you look around you might even find a souvenir summit rock residing at camelot. |
