DescriptionSteve Block + Dan Walker. Lookin fer some ice and findin it at Frankenstein. a nice balmy +16F and calm out. better than the -20 80mph joyfest above treeline.

Started out on Chia 3+, with Dan leading the first pitch, two steep-ish diagonal flows of varying ice flavor to a flat-ish belay ledge. Next Steve led the second pitch, a moderate but sustained diagonal line with a dicy rock step-across. Next we set up a toprope on Chia Direct 4+. A great, heavily chandeliered line in two parts: a 50 ft, almost vertical flow, and a 30 ft just past vertical corner/pillar/icicle. Steve sent this one, then Dan broke off the icicle on the second half (almost taking out some observers), making it a bit too hard. Last we climbed Pegasus 4. Dan started on a moderate bulgey line through some cauliflowers and up some hard snow to one last ice bulge to the belay. Then Steve led a wicked vertical column to top out with some sketchy thin stuff. About 700 feet of climbing each, hitting the cars at last light.

sorry for the crappy pics. too busy climbing/belaying -dan
