Description | We left Pinkham a bit after 9am. On the way to the base of our climb, Maia captured a frog which we carried the rest of the way to the summit so that it could live the rest of its life as an alpine frog. Just kidding, we left it in the pool where we found it.
We found a patch of snow at the base of Pinnacle and lobbed a few snowballs. Maia and Eric led the way up the climb, swinging leads. Calley and I followed behind, with Calley taking all but one of the leads. Fantastic, easy alpine climbing. We finished the climb on the legendary fairy tale traverse, and it was as good as we had hoped. Hiked the rest of the way to the summit and then descended via Lion's Head, taking a dip in a very chilly mountain stream on the way down. Tuckerman's had a good amount of snow and some fresh ski tracks. Back to the car around 9pm. |
