DescriptionHalloween was a nice, warm-ish day....

So Chris Glazner and Deb Swartz paddled from the parking lot at Hull High School out to the Graves, the most distant lighthouse/rocks in Boston Harbor.

No one else was out with the exception of a few lobstermen. We saw a number of seals while heading through the Brewsters, which was a bit of a surprise. Upon arriving at The Graves, we discovered that there really is no place to land (at least not at low tide). We had to hop out of our kayaks, swim in, and tie them up to have lunch on the rocks.

While it was a cold, distant, lonely place, we found no evidence of actual graves on the rockpile (it can't be properly called an island). It would have been a serious challenge to bury anyone out there, even if you had to!

In the end, I'm not sure this was a worthwhile "destination." Like ascending Mt. Zealand, at least you can say you've done it. (but this was far, far, far better than hiking Zealand any day....
