Fall Circus 2004 October 15-17, 2004 Camelot, Rumney, NH The 2004 Fall Circus was a huge success! 58 of us left MIT Friday night in steady rain for the drive up to Camelot. We were short on drivers, so Brennan Epps was kind enough to rent a 12 person van, which we filled to the brim with souls. The rain let up early Saturday morning, paving the way for MUCH drier activities throughout the day. It got down into the mid-30's at night, warming into the 40's and 50's during the day. We began the day with a hearty breakfast of eggs and bacon, Eggo waffles, and bagels. After breakfast, our trips went out: we had climbing at Rumney, canoeing down the Baker River, and hiking trips to Franconia Ridge, Garfield, Chocura, and a foliage hike. For dinner, we had sizzling fajitas cooked over the fire and the BBQ pit. We organized the next day's activities, sat around the campfire, took a sauna, and called it a night. The next day, we had breakfast tacos and more eggos to start things off. Unfortunately, Zach, our climbing leader, had his transmission go out on the way up to Camelot, so we were short a leader and a car. Fortunately, we managed to cram everything in though to get people on trips and back to Cambridge. Teh trips for the day included a smaller climbing trip, and hikes to Three Ponds, Welch Dickey, Whiteface, and Mt. Adams in the Presidentials. |
